Alana Van Grinsven

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alana Van Grinsven, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, educator, and friend. Born on November 22, 1952, in Byron, Wyoming, to Ken and Betty Enes, Alana’s life was defined by her love for children, education, and family.

Alana married her high school sweetheart, Tim, in 1971, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Their greatest joys were their three sons, Tim, Caleb and Seth whom she cherished deeply.

Alana had an immense passion for early childhood education, earning her bachelor’s degree, from the University of Wyoming, in early childhood development. She dedicated her career to nurturing young minds, serving as the head of the Northwest College daycare center for 28 years, where she was adored by both children and colleagues. She also spent time as a substitute teacher for Mr. Leonard’s history class at the high school, demonstrating her deep belief in the power of learning.

Beyond her professional life, Alana was known for her sharp sense of humor and ability to make friends wherever she went. She was never shy about striking up a conversation and had a special way of making people feel welcome and appreciated. Her keen eye for fashion meant she was always dressed to the nines, adding a touch of grace and style to every occasion.

She loved visiting with friends, sharing meals, playing cards, and treasuring the time spent with family. Her love extended to all those around her, leaving an impact on everyone she met. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed.

Alana is survived by her loving husband, Tim; her sons, Tim, Caleb and Seth; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A celebration of Alana’s life will be held on May 1st at Northwest College in honor of her dedication to education.

Alana’s legacy of love, laughter, and learning will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
