Arthur Hill Baker died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Powell Valley Hospital. He was 80.
Arthur was born Jan. 22, 1932 in Redman, N.Y., to Florence Virginia Ouzts and William Elmer Barker, Sr. Arthur and Marian Gray McKittrick were married July 11, 1953 in Mountville, S.C. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy, and from 1963 to 1995 he was a machinist at New York Air Brake. He was an active member of the LDS church, was an avid bowler and had a great love for baseball.
Arthur was preceded in death by a brother, William Elmer Barker Jr., and a son, James Robert Barker.
He is survived by his wife Marian of Powell; sons William (Doris) Barker of North Carolina, Daniel Barker of Tennessee; daughters Robbin (Frank) Davis of Utah, Virginia (Edward) Morrow and Cheryl (Rick) Redd, both of Powell, Catherine Simpson of South Carolina, Rebecca Barker of South Carolina; brother Thomas Ouzts Barker of Watertown, N.Y.; sister Etta Lee Radley of Lafargeville, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23 at the LDS church, West 7th St. in Powell with Bishop Zac Opps officiating. Viewing will be at the church one hour before services.
