Arthur (Bud) Edwin Cook passed away November 30, 2012. He was 80 years of age.
Bud was born December 5, 1931, in Yates Center, Kansas, to John W and Minnie Mae (Pyle) Cook. He attended school in Yates Center, Kansas. Bud came to Powell, WY with the oilfield. He married Marjorie E. Malliot on December 24, 1951 and from their union five children were born and raised. Bud served in the Army Medical Corps as an ambulance driver. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Medical Badge AR 600-70. He was honorably discharged in 1960. He retired from the oilfield in 1997. Bud was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Clubs. Bud was preceded in death by his mother, father and two sisters. He is survived by their wife Marjorie and five children, Colleen Riley of Powell, Randy E. Cook of Aiken, South Carolina, Donna Garland of Sheridan, WY, Diane Marney of Sheridan, WY, Amy McCaffrey of Richmond, VA, his brother John Cook, twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, Friday December 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
Family viewing will be Thursday December 6, 2012 from 7-8:00 pm, public viewing before services.
Pall Bearers are Dan Keeler, Rob Marney, Taylor Riley, Jon Cook, and James D. McCaffrey. Honorary Pall Bearers are Nathanial Lydie, Bryce Lydie, Andy Moore, and Noah Nelson.
