In 1988, she followed her mother’s path and launched into a career as a  professional entertainer. Barbara, also known as “BarbWire, that sharp woman  with many fine points,” joined her companion, Glenda Bell, in creating The Whole Shebang.

For 17 years, the duo entertained nationwide as BarbWire and Calamity Jane. In 2004 after 2,423 shows nationwide, The Whole Shebang retired, moving from Windsor, Colo., to Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Eskew Jr. and sister Patricia Adsit.
