BERNICE TOWNSEND

Bernice L. Townsend (Brost), 91, of Powell, Wyoming went peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the arms of her loving family.

A viewing and funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 4659 Powell Highway 14A, in Cody, Wyoming. The viewing will take place from 5:00-6:00 p.m., and the funeral will follow immediately afterward.

Bernice was born on December 29, 1918, in Alliance, Nebraska. She married her sweetheart, Bert, on December 23, 1943. They made their home in Alliance, Nebraska, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Cody, Wyoming, finally moving to Powell, Wyoming in f1988. She shared her life with Bert for just shy of 67 years.

Bernice taught school in Nebraska for several years before moving to Scottsbluff. She was a most loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She made her choice to serve God in 1930. Bernice gave her heart, first to God, to family, and friends. She always welcomed any who came to visit. She was very cheerful, sharing, and a mother to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bertha Brost, and by her baby son, Bryan Townsend.

She is survived by her husband, Bert; daughters Linda (Mike) Grunenfelder of Billings, Donna Townsend of Billings, and Thelma (Stan) Yung of Bozeman; grandchildren, Karen (David) Seddon of Billings, Craig Grunenfelder of Piedmont, South Dakota, Kindra (Chris) Vondal of Billings, Mikaela (David) Jang of Seattle, Washington, Kevin (Debbie) Yung of Santa Maria, California, Jennelle (Trent) Wallis of Billings, and Jennifer (Terry) Metro of Bozeman; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Logan Vondal, Briana and Madelyn Yung, and Reese Wallis; sisters, Ruth Dalrymple of Willis Texas, and Anne DeWitt of Omaha, Nebraska.
