Candis Lynn Whitlock

On the evening of May 29, 2024, Candis Lynn Whitlock, age 61, of Dubois, Wyoming, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Candi was born on March 8, 1963 in Marlette, Michigan, to Thomas and Ella Mae (Scott) Younge. Growing up, Candi had a great love for country music and could often be heard playing her guitar and singing.  After graduating from Brown City High School in 1981, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, chasing her dreams of a career in music. She later attended DeVry Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in business.

In 1983 Candi moved to Dubois, Wyoming to be close to her family. In 1992 she gave birth to her greatest pride and joy, her son Tanner. She then served her community wholeheartedly for 20 years as the District Administrative Assistant for Dubois schools. She lived to support Tanner and her nieces through all of their sports and activities. Candi was truly a giving angel, known for always thinking of others first, and often expressed her love by showering the people she cared about with thoughtful gifts. A woman of faith, she was a strong member of the church and truly enjoyed sharing God’s love. Candi had recently moved to Powell, Wyoming to be closer to her sister, son, and the grandchildren that she adored. She was building her life in a new place, attending New Life Church, and was full of enthusiasm for her future. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Candi is survived by her son: Tanner (Kaitlyn) Whitlock; grandchildren: Maizy and Barrett Whitlock; brother: Thomas G. Younge; sister: Lori Ebersberger; nieces: Jenni Ebersberger and Lacy (Jordan) May; grandnephews: Maverick and McCoy May. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Candi will be honored in a Celebration of Life to be held at the Dennison Lodge in Dubois Wyoming on July 27th at 2:00pm.
