Charlene M. Collingwood, 78, of Shell, WY, passed away October 3, 2011, due to a short illness.
Charlene was born in Greybull, Wyoming on July 17, 1933 to Charles E. “Bunk†and Ruby Frieling Rimer.
She married Don W. Collingwood, December 24, 1951. They made their home on Shell Creek after returning from Roswell, New Mexico where Don was in the service.
Charlene worked in banking and her employment led her to becoming an insurance agent. Eventually she owned her own agency, First Greybull Insurance. She loved spending time with family and friends, as well as, creating beautiful paintings, crafting, gardening and cooking.
Charlene’s greatest pleasure in life was giving, especially her homemade gifts.
She was an active member of the Shell Community Church and Shell Women’s Coffee.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Bunk and Ruby, siblings, Clarence “Bunky†(Marge) Rimer, and Joan(Gene) Funk.
She is survived by her husband, Don; two children Don B. (Julie) Collingwood of Shell, and Diana (Steve) Scheidt of Custer, MT; her three grandchildren, Brandon Collingwood of Belfry, MT, Gabe Scheidt of Custer, MT, Collin & Joy Scheidt Beecher of Rapid City, SD; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Katelyn Collingwood; two sisters, Jackie Pollard and Judy (Gary) Emmett and one brother, Charles "Butch" Rimer all of Greybull, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Greybull on Friday, October 7; at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Whaley Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Shell Community Church or the Whaley Cemetery.
