Lifelong Powell resident Chauncey Lee McMillan died Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home. He was 79.Â
He was born in Geyser, Mont., on June 9, 1932, the only child of Louis A. “Mac†and Helen Marie Eschler McMillan. He graduated from Powell High School and attended Northwest Community College and married Sylvia J. Franklin in Billings on Jan. 31, 1952. He was the streets supervisor for the City of Powell and belonged to First United Methodist Church, the Wyoming Stock Dog Association, the Wyoming Border Collie Association and the Border Collie Association of Scotland. He was a member of the Powell Eagles Lodge.
He enjoyed raising sheep and Border collies.Â
Chauncey is survived by son Nick McMillan of Washington, D.C.; daughter Jill Jane Tharp and her husband, Guy of Manderson; son Tad Jay McMillan and wife Deb of Keensburg, Colo.; son Tracy Dean McMillan and wife Cindi of Phelan, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Â
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, in 1992 and his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Adams-Trembath officiating. A viewing will begin at the church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.Â
