Clifford D. Reidt, a longtime Powell resident, died Jan. 1, 2012 in Casper, He was 85.

Cliff was born Feb. 21, 1926 in Roscoe, S.D. to Dwight and Clara (Garrison) Reidt, the first born of six children.

Cliff’s early years were spent on the family farm in Roscoe, and he then served in the Army.

On Jan. 3, 1951, Cliff married Della Aman of Roscoe. After their first two sons were born, Cliff and Della moved their family to Powell, where their third son was born. They made a wonderful home for their family in Powell for 50 years, where they made wonderful friends and memories. Cliff worked several years for Lloyd Heimer, who became a treasured friend and hunting partner. Cliff then worked for Powell Ready Mix until his retirement in the ‘80s. After retirement, Cliff worked part-time for the Eagles Club in Powell.

Cliff and Della also owned the Powell Laundries for 24 years.

Cliff enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending quality time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed the company of their coffee group and very special friends Boyce and Jo Wolf. Cliff and Della moved to Casper in 2006 to be closer to their children.

Cliff was preceded in death by one brother, Roger and one sister, Ethel.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Della; sons Fay (Vickie) of Casper, Linden of Gillette, and Craig (Dianne) of Casper; brothers Verne (Lorraine) of Roscoe, S.D., Floyd (Virginia) of Rapid City, S.D. and one sister, Darlene of Rapid City, S.D.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 6-7:30 p.m.
