Denny was born to Dennis and Betty (O’Brien) Wagner on Sept. 30, 1963, in Menominee, Michigan. Growing up, he attended various schools throughout Utah, Colorado and Wyoming. In 1977, the family moved overseas where he finished high school and graduated from The American School of Aberdeen, Scotland. They moved back to Wyoming in 1982, where Denny lived the rest of his life. His passion for the outdoors and his love of gold panning led to him furthering his education at Northwest College in Powell and then onto the University of Wyoming where he studied geology.
On May 29, 1992, Denny married the love of his life, Sheila Kropatch. From this union came their two children, Sean and Michele Wagner. They found so much joy in their children and followed them as they pursued their many passions throughout high school.
Denny worked at various jobs throughout his life and was a natural at mastering any task you would give him. In 2008, he started a very successful directional drilling business. On his days off, you would find him hunting, fishing or panning for gold. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Wyoming Cowboys. If you were watching a game with him, you would be feasting on some delicious meal he had prepared on his grill.
His legacy continues through his parents, Dennis and Betty (O’Brien) Wagner; his son Sean Wagner (Arora Chamberlain) and their children, Eli Chamberlain and Zoya Wagner; his daughter, Michele Wagner (Nick Norton) and their child, Maya Wagner; his sister, Karyn Asay (Snuf Triplett) and her children Randi Asay (Bruce Severson), Danielle Asay and Kodee Asay; his brother, Scott Wagner (Beckie Tilden), his sister-in-law, Becky Burke (Shawn Burke) and their children Zach (Jessica) Wagner and Megan (Logan) Franson; and many very special cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila (Kropatch) Wagner.
We welcome all family and friends to his funeral at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 and his burial to follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery. Please join us and share the many memories and stories you have of Denny’s well-lived life.
