Donald Sam Faxon

Donald Sam Faxon passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on November 15, 2024. He was born July 20, 1933 in Powell WY to Cheney and Hazel Faxon. He married Janie Anderson on June 12, 1951. The two were born on the same day in Powell, and they started dating in high school. Don and Janie celebrated 73 years of marriage this year; they had the best love story of all time.

Don is survived by his wife: Janie, 5 children: Jerry (Terry) Faxon, Vicki (Dee) Dicks, Gloria Randall, Andy (Angela) Faxon, Lynda Mammel, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. 

Don farmed in Powell for 75 years and earned many awards for his dedication. Don and Janie enjoyed spending 20 winters in Lake Havasu, boating and fishing with their beloved dog Meg. He loved camping and fishing in the Beartooths, playing cards (pinochle), and spending time with his family, who he loved very much. 

Don served as a Deacon and an Elder for Presbyterian church. He served as commissioner for the Fire Protection District board and served on the Shoshone Irrigation District board. 

Don will be greatly missed by many. Services will be Friday, November 22nd at the Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to the Powell Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
