Donald Parks Fisher

Donald P. Fisher, 82, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in Billings, Mt. He was born in Hope, Arkansas in 1931 to Parks and Josephine Fisher, spent most of his youth In Laurens, So. Carolina, graduating from High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Wanting to fly planes, entered the Air Force and was sent on classified duty to Laramie, Wyoming. Not what he had in mind, but met his wife, Kay Baillie in Laramie, and were married there December 20, 1953. Don graduated from University of Wyoming with a degree in Civil Engineering, and they moved to San Luis Obispo, California where he was with Cal Trans. His engineering professor from Wyoming talked him into returning to Laramie for his Masters, and he and Kay did, and then on to Powell, Wyoming to teach at Northwest College in 1968. They settled "Someplace" in Ralston, Wyoming and he loved his students for 28 years, retiring in 1997, and moving to Powell on Rainwater Court.
Don built beautiful model airplanes. Flew them locally, and he and Kay got Harvey the RV and traveled around to model airplane meets for many years. Don was a special husband who agreed with everything making life easy on everyone, but he MIGHT say, "You can always add salt?" He is survived by his wife Kay, his sister Marshall Grube of Johnson City, Tn., his nephew, Ken Grube of Colfax, NC, his niece, Kathryn Grube of Overland Park, Kansas, his brother-in-law Bill Baillie, and sister in law JoAnn, Baillie in Pueblo, Colorado. We wish him a fresh breeze to fill up his sails, and a stop at the Rainbow Bridge to say hello to Bella and eight other Fisher Boxers.
Donations may be made to the Northwest College Foundation.
