Dorothy A. Blount Friez, age 75, died Thursday morning the 10th of June at the Powell Valley Care Center of natural causes.
She was born November 11, 1934 in Ray, North Dakota, the daughter of Roy H and Hannah (Hale) Frounfelter. Dorothy met her first husband, Ken Blount, at Powers lake, North Dakota, and they later married on October 5, 1952 in Miles City, Montana. They resided in Powell for 20 years. They had four children together. Dorothy later met and married Larry Friez of Shepherd, Montana. They were married in Powell on July 15, 2000, and resided in Shepherd, Montana for ten years.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Friez of Shepherd, Montana; two sons, Ernest Blount of Cody, Wyoming and Kenneth Blount of Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Cindy Gillett of Powell, Wyoming and Kathy Steinmetz of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters, her first husband Ken Blount, and two granddaughters, Trisha Broadway and Melissa Gillett.
Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. followed by burial at Crown Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
