Emmy Ogawa died September 7, 2011 in Powell, Wyoming at the age of 80. She was born March 16, 1931 near Osgood, Idaho to Arata (Frank) and Fujino (Okushi) Yamasaki. She attended Idaho Falls schools graduating in 1949. After graduation, Emmy worked at the Bank of Eastern Idaho.

On February 20, 1954 ,she married Takashi (Tak) Ogawa, in the Trinity Church in Idaho Falls. They honeymooned at Lake Mead, Nevada. Emmy made a home with Tak on the Hutchinson homestead on Heart Mountain.

Emmy  was active in the Mountain View sewing club and Mountain View Circle. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning, sewing and embroidery, putting together puzzles, and traveling. She was a faithful fan at her children's sporting events.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank (Margaret) Yamasaki, Shinji Yamasaki, and Sam (Sally) Yamasaki, and sisters Machino (Gene) Fukui and Martha (Sam) Sakaguchi.

She is survived by her husband Tak, brother Kazuo (Fusako) Yamasaki of Fukuoka, Japan, daughter Kim Ogawa of Powell, daughter Kathi Ogawa of Woodinville, WA, son Craig (Babette) Ogawa of Loveland, CO, and daughter Jenny (Kurtis) Inouye of Wilsonville, OR. Grandchildren Christine Ogawa of Loveland,  Emmybeth Ogawa of Loveland, Nicolas Inouye of Wilsonville, Jonathan (Jack) Ogawa of Loveland, and Lian Ogawa of Loveland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday September 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Powell, Wyoming. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or the First United Methodist Church.
