Florene Wanda Martin

Florene W. Martin of Powell died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the New Horizons Care Center in Lovell. She was 89.

Florene was born March 16, 1923, in Atoka, Okla., to Bud E. and Eva (Brewster) Cochran.

She attended beauty school in San Diego, Calif. On Nov. 14, 1954, she married Forrest B. Martin in Yuma, Ariz., and the couple moved to Powell in 1955.

Forrest and Florene farmed north of Powell. She was a member of the North End Club and attended the Presbyterian church. Florene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ralph Cochran and Bud Cochran, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest of Powell; daughters Patti Martin of Lovell; Mickey Crippen of Faribault, Minn.; and Carolyn Sanborn of Anchorage, Alaska; sister Pat Johnson of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
