John Allen Gilbert

John Allen Gilbert of Powell, Wyoming passed peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 16, 2024. He was born to Theresa (Terrie) Gilbert and Douglas Gilbert in Powell, Wyoming on March 18, 1973. 

John was deeply loved by his entire family and circle of friends. His partner in this life, Elizabeth (Liz) Jones, was a bright spot in his world. He loved her so much. He is survived by his four children, Eric Gilbert, Ashley Gilbert (Matt), Ethan Gilbert (Sydney) and Allie Badura (Reigan); his mother, Theresa Gilbert and his brother, James Jones (Sammi). John also had two grandchildren that he adored, Ayden and Paislee. He was known for his great big love for his family, his fierce loyalty and his humor. 

John was a jack of all trades you could say, he did many things in his 51 years. He did construction work, was an amazing chef and most recently was at Blair’s Fuel Center and enjoyed his work with the community. The thing that John was the proudest of was his kids. He loved his family with a love that will never be replaced for them. His presence was solid in the lives of others. He was brilliant and strong. 

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Patricia O’Regan and grandfather Fred O’Regan. And by his paternal grandparents Harvey and Loretta Gilbert. Services will be at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 29, Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Aug. 30.
