Julie Deaun Latham
(Sept. 9, 1954 - March 1, 2017)
Julie Deaun Latham was carried away in Jesus’ arms to be with her Lord and Savior on March 1st 2017, after a 20-year battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma. She was 62.
She was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 9th, 1954, to Stanley and Marcia Finley. She attended school in Wichita and graduated from High School in 1972.
On August 13th, 1980, she met the love of her life Tim Latham, a PRCA Rodeo Clown in Kansas and became his wife on December 13th, 1980. Together they had 3 children. With Christ centered in their marriage their love and devotion to each other was truly the greatest example they could show to their children.
They made their home in Powell, Wyoming, where Julie worked for ADM in Garland for many years, together they had a small ranch outside of Powell. Julie loved to honor the Lord in many ways, and she was active in her Church of Christ for many years where she taught bible class and worked with the youth group. Later Julie and her husband Tim attended the Cody Christian Missionary Alliance, until her cancer made it difficult for her.
Her real job and passion in life was raising her 3 children. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, collecting pennies, crocheting baby afghans and quilting. She loved spending most of her time outside with her cats, and enjoying the beautiful mountain views that surrounded her. One of Julie’s biggest joys was riding her motorcycle alongside her husband, and taking many trips to the Mountains, camping, wildlife, Yellowstone, and enjoying time in Sturgis.
Later in life Julie devoted much of her time and love to her grandchildren, they brought her great joy, comfort, and strength while battling her cancer, and lifted her up at times when she needed it most.
Julie had a beautiful soul and gentle hand, her love for God was unwavering, she was a great example of Christ’s love to all that knew her. Her smile was contagious and full of warmth, she will be forever in our hearts and always on our minds.
Julie has finally been reunited with her unborn child in Heaven and is gently rocking with her baby and rejoicing with the Lord!
She is survived by her Husband Tim of 36 years, her children Jolene (Logan) Baker of Buffalo, Wyoming, Corbin (Erin) Latham of Parker, Colorado, and Valerie (Keith) Baker of Powell, Wyoming. Her Grandchildren: Cole, Lily, Hannah, Holden, and Delaney Baker; Julia, Grant, and Hudson Latham; Alexander, Jackson, and Baby Girl Baker; Her Parents Stanley and Marcia Finley; Brother Steve (Alice) Finley of Kansas; Sister Jeanette (Lanny) Pike of Kansas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. at The Christian Missionary Alliance in Cody, WY. A light luncheon will follow services, and burial at The Crown Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Powell.
