Kay Lorene (Ealy) Lynn

Kay Lorene (Ealy) Lynn

Born August 21, 1936 to Russell and Joy Krinning in Edgerton, Wyoming.

Her biological mother passed away when she was eight days old, from "septic sore throat" and "pericarditis". She was adopted by her biological mom's sister, Eva and her husband, Jack Ealy.

She had one biological brother, Harold Krinning. She had an adopted sister (biological cousin), Lois Ealy Blake, that Kay adored! She had a half sister on her fathers side, Judy Krinning Kampsnider, whom she also adored.

When Kay was 12, her adoptive mother whom she called "the mother that raised me." died suddenly, leaving her and her dad at home.

On January 31,1953 Kay married Frank M Lynn. Together they had 43 years of marriage, five children, nine biological grandchildren, five "bonus" grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and two they claimed as "foster kids".

After Frank passed away in 1996, she enjoyed a variety of activities including working part-time, taking care of her home and yard, and traveling with a group known then as "The Global Grannies". She had traveled to France and Greece with the GG. She never made it to her bucket list destination of New Zealand.

Her children, grandchildren, friends and family all remember her passion for crocheting. She crocheted baby blankets, afghans, sweaters, hats, gloves, and even a dress!! Rarely did anyone see her at home in her chair without her crocheting project(s) close by. She watched (listened to) TV as she crocheted.

Our mom was a "Trekkie". She watched countless hours of "Star Trek" and all of the movies as they came out. She enjoyed Sci-fi in general.

She spent 50 years as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In those years, she made many friends and enjoyed many events, including the annual Kappa Kreative Kraft Fair that took place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. She loved her sorority sisters very much!

Kay adored her grandkids and great-grandkids with all her heart. She could often be quoted saying, "If I'd have known how much fun grandkids are I'd have had them first!"

Kay had the travel bug since she was fairly young and had been to Hawaii three times and on a Caribbean cruise separate from her Global Granny days.

On October 29, 2003 she had brain surgery to remove a benign tumor from her right temporal lobe. That surgery had devastating results rendering her paralyzed on her left side and with her left field of vision lost. The surgery changed her life drastically, but NOT her spirit or her strong faith in her Savior, Jesus! She never lost faith and trusted Him through her last breath!!

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Ricky, sister Lois and brother Harold.

She is survived by sons, Bob (Roberta) of Aurora, CO, Gary (Marguerite) of Powell, daughters Nancy (Steve) Munsinger of Rawlins, Wy, Brenda (Steve) Mattson of Powell, grandchildren, Gary, Amanda, Adam, Michelle, Becky, Matt, Cole, Casey and Jon as well as "Bonus" Grandchildren Rhona, Becca, Richard (Buddy), Janae, Nichelle, and Many great-grandchildren.

Kays request to be cremated has been honored.

Memorial Service will be April 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Charity Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Schmidt officiating.

Since June of 2005, she has been a resident at Powell Valley Care Center, Where she was loved and cared for by the greatest hands and hearts of SO many!!
