Ken was born on June 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Bruno J. and Grace A. La Schiavo. Ken joined his brother Dick and they welcomed sister Joanne 2 years later. Ken fell in love and married Jacqueline McClintock on May 2nd, 1959 and they welcomed children; Allison, Keith and Lynn into their family.

Ken took great pride in serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. As a young boy Ken developed a love of horses and rode as often as he could. At the young age of 14 he had declared his desire to live on a horse farm in Wyoming. Ken achieved his dream and moved his family from Chicago to Wyoming in 1973. He bought land outside of Powell and in a matter of years his farm was complete with horses, cows, and chickens. His first horse was “Sam Whisky”. On the farm Ken and Jackie raised German Short-Hair Pointers. Ken enjoyed hunting with his bird-dog Lucky, fly fishing, and shooting with family at the Powell gun club. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. His grandchildren loved spending weekends and summer vacations on the farm, building forts and chasing lizards. They also enjoyed hunting and fishing with grandpa and grandma.

Ken was the Sweetheart Bread man for many years until he retired in 1999. After retirement Ken and Jackie moved to town. They spent their time together fishing, traveling and landscaping their beautiful yard. Ken and Jackie recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Ken will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his wife Jackie, children Allison (Dave) Wildman, Keith (Cindy) Borchardt, and Lynn (Greg) Marchant, grandchildren Kenny, Monica, Keven, Alex, Christine, Jesse, Amber, and Holly, great-grandchildren Angell, Amaya, Adriane and Porter Sky.

Ken will be honored at a celebration of his life with family later this summer.
