Kenneth E Van Norman

Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Van Norman
July 21, 1940 – May 4, 2012

Ken passed away peacefully in his home Friday May 4, 2012 at the age of 71.  Born July 21, 1940 in Lusk, WY to Jack and Ethel (Martin) Van Norman, he was the youngest of five children.  His family lived in Midwest, Edgerton, and he graduated in Buffalo Wyoming the spring of 1958. Kenneth finished College 1961 in Casper, WY.  He served in the Army at Ft. Lewis in Seattle, WA from 1961 to 1964.  While serving in the army at Fort Lewis he met Mary van Putten who soon became his wife.  They started their 47 years of marriage in Powell, WY in 1965 where they call home.  For 28 years he worked for Amoco Elk Basin Plant and retired early.
Where the fun was you could count on finding Kenny that is what his high school year book quoted.  He enjoyed riding horses in the mountains, hunting, fishing and playing cribbage.  He was always helping someone in need and if he said he was going to help you, he would do everything he could to get it done.  He loved finding a deal for himself and others.  He made a difference in many people’s lives with his smile, a quick joke, or a funny saying to lighten the mood.  He will be missed by many but remembered as a good man.
The survivors are his Mother, Ethel Van Norman, Wife, Mary Van Norman, Daughter, Donna Van Norman-Booker her husband Phil her daughters Annie and Amie McWilliams and their children JT Van Norman and Quincy Thompson, Son, Tom Van Norman and his wife Shellie and their children, Chris, Samantha, and Jacob.
Proceeding him in death were his father, Jack, brothers, Jack, Richard, and Tom, and sister, Shirley (Van Norman) Brown.
