Larry Eugene Guthrie
Larry Eugene Guthrie, of Powell, died Sunday, Sept. 19 at Powell Valley Hospital. He was 67.
Larry was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Pearl, Ill., to Wilbert W. and Della Guthrie. He received his education in Powell, and he married Glenda Lee Wall on July 3, 1969, in Powell.
Larry served in the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged in November 1967. Larry was a truck driver by trade, and he received driving awards from every company he worked for, including Lockheed Aircraft Service Company. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed building and restoring cars. He was interested in the history of all wars and military exercises. Larry had a big heart and showed much love for his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Art and Ed; sister Mary Jean and his loving wife, Glenda.
He is survived by sons Rich Guthrie and Devin (Chris) Butterfield; daughter Rhonda Guthrie (Rick Larson); and grandchildren Steven Guthrie, Kevin Butterfield, Dustin Curtis and Jessica Curtis.
In accordance with Larry's wishes, no services are planned. Thompson Funeral Home assisted the family.
