Lyn Goffaux

Lyn Ritterbrown Goffaux peacefully passed away on October 17, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 27, 1937 to Paul and Mary Alys (Allie)Ritterbrown in Cody, Wyoming.

Lyn grew up in Sunlight Basin near Cody, Wyoming on Dead Indian Ranch along with her sister “Pokey”. There she was surrounded by horses and beautiful mountains. She was a gifted rider and trainer of horses from a very early age. Her horses, especially Knoxy, were a profound influence and importance throughout her life. This gift she shared with family and many friends. Though her life took her to Utah many times, she always returned to her beloved Wyoming.

In 1976, Lyn joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings in the church, she especially loved teaching the children in Primary and singing in the choir. She had a radiating testimony of Our Savior, Jesus Christ and shared it with all who she cared about.

Lyn is survived by her children, Julie Kirschman; Celeste Rosquist (Ron); Paul Goffaux (Sherry) and Frances Burgerson (Brett); 18 grandchildren and 27 grandchildren and her sister, Nova Young “Pokey”

She is preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren and a great grandson.

Lyn loved life, learning, family and friends (2 legged & 4 legged)

Services will be Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7th Street Chapel. Viewing will take place at 9 am and the service will be at 10 am. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Lyn’s family thank all who gave the gift of life and love to all the caregivers from Yellowstone Home Care and Stillwater Hospice and all who have supported their family at this time.

Lyn, I will miss you and our yearly phone calls. We shared the growing up years in Sunlight in the 1950's riding Knoxy and Shorty. And, then there was the summer we dude wrangled together on Dead Indian Ranch.
My most vivid memory is of our last time together when we went up South Fork to look for your grandfather's grave which we found. The cemetery felt genuine -just dirt and sage brush, no grass. The grave markers were very personal: a pair of boots, coil of rope and one with a lineman climbing s power pole.
I am glad you found peace in your Mormon faith. Love, Tom
