Marjorie ( Marge) Irene Eichelkraut Diehl passed away Sunday, July 26, 2010 at the Powell Valley Health Care Center in Powell, Wyoming.
She was born September 29, 1918 to Fred and Annetta Eichelkraut and was raised by step mother Matilda Eichelkraut. She married Leonard Roller Diehl in Ottawa Illinois June 4, 1939. They moved to Worland, Wyoming via Sioux Falls, SD in 1945. Two children were born to this union, Leonard Gary and Margaret (Peggy) Ann.
Until her retirement in her 70’s Marge worked in Worland as a bookkeeper/secretary at Worland Creamery and Meadow Gold, a Desk Clerk at Washakie Hotel, a bank teller at Pinnacle National Bank and kept books for various other businesses. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Marge was extremely active in the Hospital Auxiliary, and belonged to Soroptimists, B&PW, and Eastern Star.
She moved to Powell in 2006 and resided at the Rocky Mountain Manor. What a brave lady to leave her home of 60 years, but she soon adjusted to a new circle of friends and activities. In March of 2009, she then became a resident of Powell Valley Health Care Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a sister, Jane Ohme and brothers, Fred Eichelkraut, Jr., Richard Eichelkraut, and Jack Rensch.
She is survived by son, L. Gary(Lois) Diehl, Allen, TX; daughter Peggy (Lloyd)) Snyder, Powell; brother Jim (Sylvia) Eichelkraut, Ottawa, IL; grandson Clark (Arianne) Snyder, Billings, MT; granddaughters Amy (Brad) Gearhart Allen ,TX; Melissa (Jon ) Gardner, Walla Walla ,WA; Kristin ( Mike) Blundell, Loveland, CO; sisters in law Carol Eichelkraut and Ardeth Rensch ; 7 great grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Worland, Wyoming at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Ralph Partelow officiating Internment will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
