Mary Elizabeth Floan Bever passed away November, 11 at the Powell Care Center. She was 96.
Mary was born in Gardiner, Montana, on June 15, 1917, the first of 4 children to Al and Eunice Floan. Her family moved to Powell in 1928. She gradutedfrom Powell High School in 1935, where she met her future husband Jim Bever. They married in 1938. To this union 5 children were born, Mary Phyl Bever, Jim (Carol) Bever, Barb (Jim) Beavers, Bobbie Jones and Carol Johnston. She had 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Her family was always the center of her life. She also counted the staff at the Powell Care Center as her extended family.
Mary was an avid knitter, painter and a skilled basket weaver. Her family and church are honored to have some of her creations. Mary's flower gardens over the years were enjoyed by many.
Mary was a very active member of the Union Presbyterian Church since 1953. She also belonged to P.E.O.,Epasc Club, Powell Fine Arts Guild, and Powell Art Guild. She was a board member of the Homesteader Museum.
"Grandma's" laughter and love will be missed by many. She was preceded-in death by her parents, brothers, husband of 48 years and 3 grandchildren, Colette Studer, Bret and Brad Beavers.
Funeral services for Mary Liz Bever will be held at the Union Presbyterian Church at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 16th
Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Homesteader Museum or to the Powell Valley Care Center beauty shop. Plant a flower in the spring in Mary Liz's memory.
