Mary Georgana See

Mary G See joined her heavenly father, and her husband, Claude See, peacefully on Sept. 15, 2022, in Powell, Wyoming, at the age of 107.

Mary was born July 26, 1915, in Baker City, Oregon, to John and Anna McGrath. She later met and married her husband Claude, who died in 1999 after 67 years of marriage. They spent a few years living in Montana before moving to Powell, Wyoming, where they bought a farm on the north end in 1938. They made their home in Powell and raised three sons, Ronald, Robert and Roger.

Mary’s favorite things in life were her family, friends, and playing cards with anyone who was willing to play. She enjoyed fishing and camping in the Beartooth Mountains, reading a good book, and gardening.

She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge until she entered Powell Valley Care Center. She attended the Southern Baptist Church in her later years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Claude See; her parents, John and Anna McGrath; two brothers and two sisters. 

She is survived by her children; Ronald (Mary Jane) See, Powell, Wyoming; Robert (Ella) See, Powell, Wyoming; Roger (Linda) See, Greeley, Colorado; stepdaughter Helen (Herb) Miller, Nampa, Idaho; grandchildren Michal Jones, Darreld Pearce, Kelly See, Mary Ann Judd, Glenn See, Christine Gunnink, Susan Olsen, Devin See, David See, Joe Pearce, Shane See, and Shannon See; 31 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren to date, and too many nieces and nephews to name. All the nuts on the family tree … family by love, not blood.

Mary touched the hearts and lives of many people; she will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

A graveside only service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell, Wyoming. Please come share your stories and memories with the family. Mary requested no flowers for the service.
