Richard Canapp was loved by all who encountered him. He had an intoxicating sense of humor, and, if you had the chance to meet him, he would be the strongest man you have ever known.
He had the ability to take on any task at hand, not just fix the problem, but found new answers. Once you became a part of his life you were never forgotten.
There was always a story behind every treasure he kept. From his guns to his trinkets, to every picture and letter.
As for his friends and family, he will be the treasure that everyone will keep.
Richard Thomas Canapp, 73, died June 27, 2010, in Powell.
He was born June 24, 1937, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Gladys (Milbourne) and Orville Canapp.
He married Gloria Talley on Feb. 3, 1959, in Baltimore. He served with the U.S. Army and was retired at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Canapp of Powell; sons Richard Doss Canapp (Laura) and Justin H. Canapp, both of Cody; daughters Kimberly Green of Wasilla, Alaska, Amanda Sample (Jeffrey) of Arkansas and Millicent Noonan (Jason) of Cody; brother Thomas Canapp (Charlotte) of Kingsville, Md.; sisters Betty Owen and Darlene Slater, both of Baltimore; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Marvin and Lester.
