With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robin Lynn Snow, affectionately known to family as “Aunt Pooh,” at the age of 64, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Powell, Wyoming. She was born on April 25, 1960, in Provo, Utah, to Robert Snow and Violet Snow, the first of five children. Shortly after her birth, her parents moved to Kokomo, Indiana. Her family moved frequently, from Indiana, to Oregon, Arizona, California, and eventually to Wyoming. The family moved from Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Portland, Oregon, in 1971 during Robin’s 4th-grade year.
Robin was on the go at a very young age. She started walking and talking when she was 6 months old. She loved learning, and she had a photographic memory. Learning seemed easy for her. She was very successful academically, earning nearly a 4.0 throughout her high school years. Her competitive spirit and drive also helped her to excel as an athlete. She played on the women’s basketball, volleyball, track, softball, and golf teams during high school. She loved bowling because her father would take her with him when he had his late-night bowling league. There she learned to bowl and became a very good bowler. Robin was a natural leader; she participated in student government and was in several school clubs.
In 1978, Robin graduated from Cleveland High School, where she was awarded several scholarships: Academic, Athletic, and the Governor’s scholarship. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and graduated with an AA degree. Then she studied computer science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. After completing a year at BYU she returned home to work. Then she moved back to Utah to continue her studies and to work at US West telephone company. Robin relocated several times during her career with the telephone company, and lived in Utah, Washington state, and Oregon. She retired in Oregon.
In the fall of 2015, she kept finding her way back to Wyoming where she had many childhood memories and relatives. Finally, Thermopolis and then Powell, Wyoming, became her home. Robin loved her parents, her siblings, her many other family members, and her dearest friend (and sister by choice) Allison. Robin was committed to helping them throughout her life. She was a cherished friend to all who knew her, always extending a helping hand to those she encountered. Robin loved people and she enjoyed sharing stories with others and getting to know and help many people in her community. She encountered many people on her travels through life each day who needed a helping hand. She learned so much from those whom she was able to serve. It truly brought joy to her soul. Also, Robin always had a deep love for nature and all living creatures, which was evident in her daily life.
Robin had a special passion for Halloween, which she delighted in decorating for each year, and she shared an even greater enthusiasm for Christmas, creating impressive displays with her mother. In fact, Robin felt great joy and love when she was able to be with her family and friends at special occasions and events to celebrate with them. Family meant so much to her.Robin is survived by her mother Vi; siblings Robert Snow, Regina McCarthy, Richard Snow, and Rochelle Wagner; nephews Jason, Timothy, and Tyler; nieces Jessica, Rebekah, Robyn, Kyla, Rachel, April, and Zoe; and four great-nephews.
