Ruby Mae (Boley) Green died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Powell Valley Care Center. She was 85.
Ruby was born Dec. 26, 1925 in Denver, Ark., to James Harvey and Velma Boley.
She received her high school diploma. Ruby married Virgil Roy Green on Sept. 1, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kan. The couple lived in Sylvia and Ulysses, Kan. and Powell.
Ruby attended the Union Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Willwood Women’s Club, the Shoshone Rock Club and Powell Valley Riding Club.
Her hobbies included rock-hunting, fishing, woodworking, knitting and quilting.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, James and Velma Boley; brothers Virgil Hurshell and Wilbur Boley.
She is survived by her sons, Virgil (Nancy) Green Jr. and Jason (Sheila) Green; daughters Janis (Hal) Ring and Joyce (Cliff) Johnston; brother Chuck (Jenny) Boley; sisters Rachal Conklin and Pat (Irvin) Matsalla; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in Powell with Rev. Holly Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
