Sarah Elizabeth (Wirth) Borrego, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away on Friday, July 9th in Seattle, Washington. Sarah had been a patient at the University of Washington Medical Center for the past month where she was awaiting a double lung transplant. She had been suffering with a rare lung disease since February. th at 11:00 A.M. at the LDS Church on Ave. E in Powell, Wyoming with burial in Byron, Wyoming following the services. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 at Thompson Funeral Home and also 10:00-10:45 A.M. at the church. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah was born in Worland, Wyoming on July 27, 1973 to Steve and Elaine (Enes) Wirth. Three adoring sisters, April, Maylee and Laurel were delighted to have a "baby doll" sister to play with and to mother. The family remembers her beautiful big blue eyes and her spunky spirit. Sarah grew up in Wyoming however she graduated from high school in Bend, Oregon where her father had been transferred with his job. Following graduation Sarah attended Northwest College where she studied music.
Sarah met Johnnie Borrego in Rawlins, Wyoming and they were married on January 22, 1994 in Laramie. She loved being a housewife and mother to their three precious children: Jonathan (16), Joshua (14) and Jordyn (14). The family was living in Havre, Montana where Johnnie works for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Sarah loved music and blessed many lives with her musical talents. She was serving as organist of the LDS Church in Havre at the time of her death.
Sarah’s family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Raghu, the transplant team and many dedicated staff for their tender care while she was in Washington.
Sarah is survived by her husband and three children, her parents, her father-in-law Rudy Borrego , mother-in-law, Rayetta (Dale) Kirkley, 3 sisters: April (Kurtis) Hornbeck, Maylee (Kent) Lemmon, and Laurel (Daren) Anderson, one sister-in-law, Brandie (Brian) Beadle, a brother-in-law, Joseph (Stephanie) Borrego, 12 nieces and nephews who adored her, in-law grandparents Ruben (Mary) Borrego and her best friend, Assunta McGrail. Sarah was preceded in death by her step-mother-in-law, Marie Borrego, grandparents, Jim and Margaret Wirth; Bettee and Ken Enes; uncles, Jerry Corbett and Marv Enes and aunts, Shannon Enes and Nell Cowgill.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17
In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for the Borrego children. Contributions may be sent to Wells Fargo Bank - Havre, Montana 59501.
