Tomorrow is never promised and life is often too short. Sheila Rae Asher was born May 19, 1955, to Dianne and Louis Jr. Kousoulos in Cody, Wyoming. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, Sheila was finally healed at the age of 69. She was set free from this world and her broken body to run and sing beside our blessed savior. She finished her race with steadfast and unwavering faith and joy. Although our hearts are shattered, we rejoice in knowing we will be with her again.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Dianne and Jr.
She is survived by her husband Rick Asher, her children Brian (Misti) Asher, Andrew (Tiffani) Asher, and Whitney (Eric) Menning and eight grandchildren: Austin, Aspen, Jayden, Brooks (Summer), Ethan, Payton, Maci and Isaac; and great-grandchild Saylor; as well as her sister Tammi DeLong (David) and brother Alan Kousoulos (Amy).
Her love for her family ran deep. She spent many evenings playing board games with her grandchildren and loved teaching them to paint. If her house was full, she was happy. On her last day her house was full of the sounds and laughter of her children and grandchildren. She was selflessly generous and always welcomed the opportunity to bless people. Her wisdom and deep morals will forever be ingrained in our minds and on our hearts.Sheila's legacy in life was to share the good news of Jesus Christ. She helped guide many people to the Lord and was the definition of beinging salt and light. I have no doubt one of the first things she heard in her new home was, “well done, my good and faithful servant.” She not only was the spiritual matriarch for our family but for so many others as well. Even in her last moments she would say, “please tell them about Jesus.”
In lieu of flowers, Sheila would love for you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Philippians 4:9: “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me — practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”Sheila was laid to rest and had a small service with her family and close friends Wednesday, Dec. 4.
