Steven David Shaffer passed away peacefully at his home in Ralston on July 27, 2013. He was 60.
He was born in Painsville, Ohio to Raymond D. and Yvonne (Burgess) Shaffer, on December 5, 1952. He attended school in Painsville until he moved to Ten Sleep, Wyoming when he was a young man to live near his maternal grandparents. He made many friends in Ten Sleep over the years. He worked most of his adult life as a welder, and had been a Wyoming resident for many years.
On May 9, 2008, he married Katherine Asay in Cody, Wyoming. He found his greatest pleasure in spending time with his family, and working around his home and yard. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Asay) Shaffer of Ralston; his sons, Cody (Iesha) Shaffer of Worland, and Colt (Ryan) Shaffer of Worland, daughter Sydney Shaffer of Ralston; his step-sons, Cory (Danell) Bennett of Powell, and Curtis (Katie) Bennett of Cody; and his step-daughter, Jennifer (Travis) Lejeune of Powell.
A viewing is planned for Friday, August 2, 2013, at 6:30 p.m., at Thompson Funeral Home. The viewing will be followed immediately by funeral service at 7:30 p.m.
