Thomas August Lobstein was born on March 25, 1943 in Lapeer, Michigan to Raymond Lobstein and Doris Marie Robinet. He passed away on May 28, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Tom grew up in Michigan, where he played football, basketball and worked on the farm. He met Harriet Loye Farnsworth at a basketball game in North Dakota. They dated for awhile before he was deployed with the Air Force. After serving as an M. P. (Military Police) for the Air Force, in Africa, he and Loye married on January 11, 1964. They welcomed two beautiful daughters into their family, Tress and Raena. Upon completion of his military service, Tom worked on the Yellowtail Dam, making $3.00 an hour. He then worked for the Park County Sheriff's Office and later for Montana Dakota Utilities (WBI).
After retirement, he and Loye enjoyed driving busses for Park County School District. They also served as missionaries for the LDS Institute in Powell, Wyoming. They were sealed to each other on July 3, 2014 in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Together, they have 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren: Kenzie, Braden, Wyatt, Steven, Duncan, Kyle, Noah, McCoy, Kobe, Avery, Rachael, Ashlynn, Kimber, Penelope, Thomas and Riley. Their grandchildren were their pride and joy and they loved them so much!
Tom loved working with his hands and playing golf or fishing with his grandkids. He was a diligent home teacher, showed his love of the Savior to everyone and was always at special events for his family, no matter how far away it was. We will miss his quick wit, funny jokes, and endearing smile. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Doris, wife, Loye, and brother, Gerry (Sue) Lobstein. He is survived by his sisters: Norma Lobstein, Mary (Ed) Spicer, Lisa (Dan) Priebe, his daughters: Tress (Kevin) Fieber, Raena Kary, and seven grandsons: Chad (Candace) Fieber, Wade (Paula) Fieber, Adam (Jamie) Fieber, Scott (Brooke) Fieber, Levi (Tasha) Kary, Cole (Tiffany) Kary and Garrett Kary (Felicia).
