Todd Glandt

Todd E. Glandt died at Powell Valley Care Center on April 26, 2023, at the age of 65. He was born in Greeley, Colorado, on March 15, 1958, to Bose and Charlene (Pennington) Glandt. He lived in Lander, Thermopolis, Cody and Powell.
Those are his stats, but it doesn’t really tell Todd’s whole story. He didn’t have an easy life from the very beginning. He was born three months premature in 1958; impressive that he made it. After his development was slow, he was found to have cerebral palsy.
My first memories of Todd is of him wearing leg braces. He grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with his younger brother Kurt and sister, Christie. He graduated in 1977 from Cheyenne East High School. He said he “flipped burgers” for awhile after high school and then moved to Lander, Wyoming, so he could help take care of his Grandma Glandt. He also worked at the training school there for over seven years and in 1988, became the CNA supervisor. Unfortunately, Todd injured his back on the job. He had back surgery but it didn’t go well, so he became disabled. His grandma had to move into a nursing home.
Todd later moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming. He loved going fishing down off the river bank. He also became active in Big Horn Enterprises there, and in 1999, Todd moved to Cody, Wyoming. Not being able to move as well, he started gaining weight. His balance wasn’t good and after awhile, he was needing help to care for himself. After several falls, Todd eventually moved into the Powell Valley Care Center in 2013.
Todd sadly had buried each of his immediate family until he was the last one. In spite of his hardships and declining health, he had the biggest heart and good attitude. He loved people, animals, video games, old Westerns, fishing and visiting with people. He enjoyed all sports, especially football, and joking around. The Nebraska Cornhuskers have lost a big fan.
In his last wishes, Todd said he wanted to be remembered as “easy going, loved his family and tried to be honest with everyone. I didn’t have anyone I really didn’t like.”
Mission accomplished, Todd.
You are a good example of what we should all strive to be. God bless!
Todd was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother and sister.
He is survived by his cousin, Patty Wurzel, and her family of Powell; aunt Donna Pennington of Lost Springs, Wyoming, and cousin Donna Hall and family, all of Lost Springs. Wyoming.
Services will be held at the Powell Valley Care Center Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, with pastor Janita Krayniak officiating. Burial will be in Lusk, Wyoming, with Todd’s Grandpa Pennington.
