Mr. Wayne Tamlin of Powell passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at the age of 70.
Wayne was born to parents Phillip and Pauline Tamlin on Oct. 15, 1948, in Fort Collins, Colorado, and grew up in Powell. He was the third of four children, and attended school in Powell.
Wayne served proudly in the United States Navy, returning to Wyoming afterward, where he had a long and rewarding career performing a variety of roles in the oil field. He very much appreciated the outdoors, and spent the majority of his spare time with friends and loved ones exploring the wilderness, camping, fishing and hunting. Wayne was a rockhound and gemstone enthusiast, and enjoyed panning for gold.
He loved cooking, and barbecuing for others was something he took great pleasure and pride in. His smile lit up the room and he constantly entertained others with his humorous jokes and storytelling.
He touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his sister, Bettienna (Betty) Kinder of Cody; one daughter, Dede Nidiffer of Billings, Montana; two sons, Dustin Gundlach of Baker, Montana, and Scott Gundlach of Miles City, Montana.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
