William “Willie” Noel Young passed away on March 10, 2020. He was born on Oct. 2, 1952, to Margie and Robert Young in Moline, Illinois. He lived there all his childhood. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1972 to 1978. He was a military-trained mechanic on generators and small engines. He was a proud veteran.
He was married to Linda Spencer, and they had two children, Debbie and Criona. He also had five grandchildren.
He spent most of his life in East Moline, Illinois. He spent a few years in Texas, working for a trucking firm as a mechanic. He suffered a back injury and was partly disabled.
In 2016, he came to Powell with friends, Jack Wolf and Sam Walling. Then he got an RV and lived in it.
He worked part-time at Bob’s Auto in Powell, before he got cancer and passed away.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, at 777 E. Seventh Street in Powell.
